How is this different from buying directly from Alibaba Cloud / Tencent Cloud / Cloudflare?
Global cloud providers typically contract through a Mainland or overseas entity, bill in RMB or USD, and offer support mainly through tickets. UD integrates in-China IDC, CN2 lines, CDN, and security under a single contract, backed by a Hong Kong team providing live support in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, and we handle compliance work such as ICP filing that the global providers won't do for you.
Can I apply for an ICP filing without a WFOE?
An ICP filing requires the operating entity to be a Mainland-registered company; a company registered only in Hong Kong or overseas cannot apply directly. UD can introduce a Mainland accounting firm to set up a WFOE, which takes around 3–6 months. If time is tight, a "Hong Kong hosting + China CDN" combination gives Mainland users a near-local experience with no ICP required.
Can I accelerate a site in China without an ICP filing?
Yes. UD China CDN caches content on nodes that serve Mainland users, with no need to host the origin server inside the Mainland and no ICP filing required. Latency drops from a standard cross-border 40–80ms to under 50ms.
What is the difference between CN2 GIA and CN2 GT?
GIA (Global Internet Access) uses the 59.x.x.x route range, connecting directly to the CN2 backbone and staying low-latency even at peak. GT (Global Transit) still routes some traffic back through the 163 backbone, so peak performance drops, but it costs 30–50% less than GIA. UD configures GIA by default for enterprise clients.
How do I get started?
Submit the form on this page or call UD customer service. A UD consultant runs a free 30–45 minute scoping session to map out your site architecture, target markets, traffic volumes, and existing tech stack, then provides a written proposal and a phased quote. From enquiry to go-live typically takes 2–6 weeks (excluding ICP filing wait times).
